FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is a graph paper generator?
A graph paper generator lets you create printable graph paper with custom grid size, major lines, coordinate axes, and numbering. You can instantly generate a PDF tailored for math, engineering, or classroom use.
How do I print the graph paper?
Click View PDF, then use your browser’s Print option. You can also save the file as a PDF from the browser dialog.
Can I change the grid size?
Yes. In Grid options, choose the units (inches or millimeters) and select the square size that fits your needs.
What are major (bold) grid lines?
Major lines are thicker lines that appear every few squares (for example every 5 squares). They help make the grid easier to read and measure.
Can I add coordinate axes and numbers?
Yes. Enable Include axis to add X and Y axes to the grid. You can also enable Show numbers to display coordinates along the axes.
Can I customize the page design?
Yes. In the Theme tab you can change the border color, border width, and add decorative images to create themed worksheets.
Can I change the worksheet title?
Yes. In Page Content, you can edit or remove the title that appears at the top of the worksheet.
Can I add instructions or student information fields?
Yes. You can add:
  • Name and date lines for students
  • Instruction text to describe the task or activity
These options help turn the graph paper into a ready-to-use worksheet.
Can I customize the grid layout?
Yes. In Style, you can change the line thickness, grid color, and font. In Paper size, you can also change the page orientation to Portrait or Landscape.
What are Quick Presets?
Quick Presets are ready-made graph paper layouts with commonly used settings.
Selecting a preset automatically applies the grid size, major lines, axes, and numbering options.
What is the difference between inches and millimeters?
The generator supports both imperial and metric units.
Inches are commonly used with US Letter paper, while millimeters are commonly used with A4 paper.
You can switch units at any time.
What square sizes are available?
You can choose different square sizes depending on your needs.
Common inch sizes include 1 inch, 1/2 inch, 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch, and 1/10 inch.
Common metric sizes include 2 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm.
What does Show numbers do?
Show numbers displays coordinate values along the axes.
This option is useful for coordinate planes and graphing exercises.
What is the Grid Area option?
Grid Area controls how much of the page is covered by the grid.
Rectangle creates a standard worksheet layout.
Square keeps the grid area square.
Full Page expands the grid to fill most of the page.
What is the Margin Line option?
Margin Line adds a colored vertical guideline to the page.
It can be placed several cells from the left or right side and is useful for school worksheets and handwriting layouts.
Can I add decorations or themed borders?
Yes.
In the Theme tab, you can customize borders and add decorative images to create themed worksheets and printable activities.
